This is not an Easter post. Same time of year, same catchy phrase that we hear around Easter, but for the sake of this blog, not an Easter post.
Last night, I attended a Zac Williams concert and while I know his hits (mainly from the radio), I've never taken a deep dive into his music. He sang a song I had never heard before called Sunday's Comin' and it really struck a chord with me. Here are some of the lyrics:
When your week feels like a beat down And you can't tell the night from day And you're tired of fighting battles When all you feel is pain, oh It's a heavy weight There's hope on the horizon 'Cause the cross was not the end Let joy come in the morning And, child, lift your head Don't you give up yet
Keep on holdin' on There's gonna be a breakthrough Keep on holdin' on Don't stay buried in that grave If He can roll the stone He can send the darkness runnin' Might feel like Friday But your Sunday's comin' It might feel like Friday But your Sunday's comin'
When we consider our issues, be it mental health issues, or any other problem that we struggle with, I think it's important to remember that what we see in front of us isn't the end. There is always something else on the horizon or behind the scenes that we can't always see or predict. It might feel like there is no hope, but that is a lie. Every problem comes with a solution. It might not be easy, it might take a while, we might not understand the "how's and why's" but just hold on, your Sunday is coming.
